Carey Alumni Thomas M. Wright (2001) is proud to announce the release of his second feature film 'The Stranger' as writer/director. After leaving Carey, Thomas has gone on to pursue a successful international career in theatre and film. He has featured in films and series including Top of the Lake, Sweet Country, Everest, The Bridge and in 2019 wrote and directed the award-winning feature film Acute Misfortune. 'The Stranger' is produced by Academy-Award winning companies See-Saw Films, Anonymous Content and Netflix which premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival in Official Selection, where it received a seven-minute standing ovation. You can see 'The Stranger,' a gripping, sinuous psychological thriller, in cinemas around the country on October 6th and Netflix on October 19.
