SOCCER

The Boroondara-Carey Eagles Men’s First Team capped off a fantastic season with a final round win in front of a large home crowd on Wilcox Field. This win clinched a second place in State League 1 South-East and promotion to National Premier League 3 next season. They had their nose in front of the league table at half time of this fixture, only for another result to go against them. The reserves also finished runners up after a great year.
The Women’s First Team made it through to the Victorian Premier League final, ultimately also finishing runners up, whilst the reserves finished eighth.
Overall a great set of club results in the first full season back!

HOCKEY

The club entered two weekend sides and a Monday night side into the winter season. Our Firsts missed finals by a single point, however, getting through a full winter season the club was great for all! The club will again be entering sides in the upcoming  summer season competition which commences in the first week of October, so please get in contact if you are interested in joining.

FOOTBALL

The Old Carey Football Club endured a mixed 2022 season, with the First  XVIII unfortunately being relegated. However, being able to get a lot of games into a very young squad and strengthening off the field provides a strong platform to build on and get back on the winners list in Premier C in 2023.
There were green shoots through the efforts of the development (reserves) side, who reached the finals, whilst the Under 19s went on a barnstorming run in winning their last seven games, unfortunately missing out on the finals.
A key focus for the OCFC going forward is the return of a women’s side.

CROSS COUNTRY

Season still in progress at the time of writing.

UPCOMING SUMMER SEASON

CRICKET

The Old Carey Cricket Club’s four men’s and two women’s sides are currently gearing up for season 2022/23 as they look to defend their First XI Mens, Second XI Mens and First XI Women’s premiership titles in the Eastern Cricket Association.
The First XI Men’s Team will have Daniel Clarke (2014) taking over the reigns as captain after the remarkable three-time premiership captain Cal Still stepped down. Matt Knox (2016) continues on as Second XI Men’s Team captain, and both will be supported again by club coach Drew Smith.
The Women’s Team will continue in the fortnightly T20 competition, with their program again overseen by Terry Atkins.
